An apprenticeship is a structured training programme that combines real workplace experience with academic learning. Apprentices work for an employer, earn a salary and study toward a nationally recognised qualification at the same time. Most of the programme is spent working, with a portion of time each week dedicated to off the job learning and study.
Apprenticeships are open to anyone aged 16 and over who is not in full time education. There is no upper age limit, which means apprenticeships are available to school leavers, career changers and experienced professionals looking to develop their skills and gain a formal qualification.
Yes. Having existing qualifications does not prevent you from doing an apprenticeship, as long as the programme you are enrolling on is at a higher level than your existing qualifications in the same subject area. Our team can advise on eligibility before you enrol.
Yes. Apprenticeships are not just for new hires. Existing employees can undertake an apprenticeship as a way of developing their skills and gaining a formal qualification. It is one of the most effective ways for employers to invest in the people they already have.
