Careers Information, Advice and Guidance

Knowing what you want to do next is not always straightforward, and it does not have to be. Whether you are thinking about your first step into a new career, considering a change in direction or looking to build on what you have already achieved, this page is here to help you make sense of your options. Our team works with learners at every stage of their journey, and any conversation you have with us is impartial, pressure-free and built around what is right for you.

Careers information, advice and guidance, often referred to as CEIAG, is support designed to help people make informed decisions about their education, training and career. It is not about being told what to do. It is about having access to the right information, someone to talk things through with and a clearer picture of the options available to you so that the decision you make is genuinely yours.

Good CEIAG is impartial. That means the support we offer is focused on what is right for you, not on steering you towards any particular programme or provider. If an Educationwise course is the right fit, we will tell you why. If something else suits you better, we will tell you that too.

Who This Is For

This page is for anyone who is thinking about what comes next, at any stage of their career.

You might be someone who has recently finished a qualification and is not sure how to build on it. You might be considering a career change but are not sure where to start or which route is realistic. You might be returning to work or education after a break and want to understand what is available to you. You might be in a role you enjoy but want to progress further, and you are not sure which development pathway makes the most sense for where you want to go.

Whatever your starting point, the purpose of this page and the support behind it is the same: to help you find the right next step, with the right information to make it confidently.

How We Can Help

Our team is available to have an informal conversation about your options at any point, and you do not need to have a clear idea of what you want before you get in touch. We work with learners across a range of sectors including fitness and health, education and training, management and leadership, business administration and sport and coaching, and whether you are looking at apprenticeships, funded qualifications or professional development courses, we can help you understand what is available and what the pathway forward looks like. Any advice we provide is impartial and built around what is genuinely right for you.

What We Can Talk Through Together

Every conversation is different, but here are some of the things people most commonly want to explore when they get in touch.

We will look at where you are now, what you are working towards and which programme or qualification is the most suitable fit for your current level and career goals, so you are not committing to something that does not suit your situation.

We will walk you through the funding options that apply to your situation, including how apprenticeship funding works for employers and learners, how the Advanced Learner Loan is structured and what nothing to pay upfront actually means in practice.

We will help you understand what progression looks like from where you are now, whether that means the next level of qualification, a more senior role or a move into a different area of your sector entirely.

We will talk through how our programmes are structured and how other learners in similar situations manage to balance study with work, family and other commitments, so you have a realistic picture of what it involves before you decide.

We will share what we know about the qualifications and skills that employers in your sector value, and how the programmes we offer relate to the roles and progression routes that are genuinely available to you.
