Learner Journey

Over an 18-month programme, apprentices will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to operate effectively in a middle or senior management role. The course is delivered through weekly online sessions and quarterly face-to-face visits, supported by a dedicated tutor offering one-to-one guidance throughout.

Learners also gain access to a full library of digital resources to assist with weekly off-the-job training. The programme includes classroom sessions, mentoring, off-site learning and the completion of work-based projects.

At least 20 per cent of the apprenticeship must be completed as off-the-job training. These hours must be logged and evidenced with guidance provided at enrolment.

Assessment & Certification

To be eligible for the End-Point Assessment learners must have achieved Level 2 English and Mathematics and submitted a complete portfolio of evidence. The EPA takes place over a three-month period and includes a project with a report and a professional discussion underpinned by the learner’s portfolio. On successful completion, learners will be awarded the Level 5 Operations or Departmental Manager apprenticeship standard, a nationally recognised qualification supporting progression into senior leadership roles.
