The Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship is ideal for individuals who want to support business operations and help teams work more efficiently. Business Administrators play a vital role in maintaining effective processes, supporting internal departments and handling external communications across a wide range of industries including the public, private and charity sectors.
Apprentices will learn how to manage records and documentation, handle confidential information and use key IT systems to support organisational needs. The role requires strong communication, attention to detail and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Business Administrators are expected to manage their time effectively, take initiative and solve problems as they arise. Their work supports the smooth running of operations and contributes to business improvement across departments.

Over a 14-month programme, apprentices will develop the skills, knowledge and behaviours needed to succeed in an administrative role. Learning is delivered through weekly online sessions and quarterly face-to-face visits, guided by a dedicated tutor who provides personalised support throughout the course.
Learners also gain access to a wide range of online resources to support their weekly off-the-job training. The programme combines classroom sessions, mentoring, off-site visits and real-world experience in the learner’s current workplace.
At least 20 per cent of the apprenticeship must be completed as off-the-job training. These hours must be logged and evidenced with clear guidance provided at enrolment.
Once learners have completed their training and reached Gateway they move on to the End-Point Assessment which takes place over a three-month period. This includes a work-based project, a presentation with questions and answers and a professional discussion supported by a portfolio of evidence. Learners who successfully complete the programme will achieve the Level 3 Business Administrator apprenticeship standard, a nationally recognised qualification that supports further career development in administration, operations and office management.
